I use the Conscious Leadership framework from Richard Barrett for the Leadership Development of my Clients. Conscious Leadership is also called Value-based Leadership and Full Spectrum Leadership.

It helps my clients to lead themselves and others.

Conscious Leadership

What is ‘conscious’? One is conscious when:

  • One is being aware of becoming aware of the impact of their actions and behaviours on other people around them.
  • One is being aware of the impact on oneself of one’s own thoughts and feelings.
  • One is caring for their impact of actions and behaviours on others and self.

So conscious leadership is about bringing all these at the moment to give desired results and enabling relationship with others.

A conscious leader is someone who:

  • Will take charge in a crisis
  • Will connect to a common man
  • Will build high-performance systems and processes that make things work
  • Empower people to become all they could become
  • You will trust and one who creates an inspirational vision
  • Has empathy, and one who cooperates with others in strategic alliances for mutual benefit
  • Has the wisdom, compassion, and foresight to build a sustainable future for humanity

So conscious leadership is about bringing all these to one’s leadership role. It requires one to be a complete authentic self to deliver the results that one would want in any situation. It is about shifting the mindset from ‘I’ to ‘We’
